The Mesa Vista Schools, under the direction of the Mesa Vista Board of Education through its policies, serves to promote, provide, and sustain the necessary resources that will enable a strong educational and managerial leadership team, a strong instructional program, and a strong commitment by teachers so that ALL students acquire knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become productive, successful citizens.
The mission of Ojo Caliente Elementary is to provide a safe, stable, and educational learning environment for our students through cooperation, professionalism, and compassion to help students reach their highest educational potential as they grow to be literate, competent, confident, and successful citizens by providing committed master teachers, and educational leaders from the community, school district, and students' families.
A Message from our Principal
Greeting El Rito and Ojo Caliente Elementary Families,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself, Richard Apodaca, as the new principal of El Rito and Ojo Caliente Elementary Schools. My passion for education and the success of all students has been shaped over my years serving as an educator. I have sought to ensure the success of each student and school by providing the best educational and extracurricular opportunities possible. Similarly, it is my number one priority at El Rito and Ojo Caliente Elementary Schools that every student receives a well-rounded education.
The faculty and staff are excited to work with you as we provide high quality, rigorous, challenging and relevant instruction for your children. El Rito and Ojo Caliente Elementary School staff members seek to empower students to develop a passion for lifelong learning and nurture them by engaging their intellect, emotions and natural curiosity. We seek to instill not only the objectives and skills specified by Common Core Standards but develop student competence and motivation that will enrich each life. Our daily work together includes creating a safe and supportive environment in which all learners can pursue academic and social learning experiences and fulfill their unique potentials.
You are a huge part of the Mesa Vista Consolidated Schools success. Parent involvement increases student achievement and enriches the school community. Please feel free to regularly volunteer inside/outside our classrooms. By doing so, you are providing valued attention to students, teachers, and the school community. As we build upon existing relationships and forge new ones, let us collaboratively support the social, emotional and academic well-being of each child.
