You can find us in El Rito, New Mexico, approximately 50 miles north of Santa Fe. We’re a brand new elementary school in the Mesa Vista Consolidated School District. It is exciting to be a part of a growing school district and we look forward to providing our students with a superb education.

Our school offers Kindergarten through 6th grade.Whether you need to contact us, check the school calendar, or want to know about the latest news on campus, we know our Web site will be helpful to you.

A Message from our Principal

Greeting El Rito and Ojo Caliente Elementary Families,

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself, Richard Apodaca, as the new principal of El Rito and Ojo Caliente Elementary Schools. My passion for education and the success of all students has been shaped over my years serving as an educator. I have sought to ensure the success of each student and school by providing the best educational and extracurricular opportunities possible. Similarly, it is my number one priority at El Rito and Ojo Caliente Elementary Schools that every student receives a well-rounded education.

The faculty and staff are excited to work with you as we provide high quality, rigorous, challenging and relevant instruction for your children. El Rito and Ojo Caliente Elementary School staff members seek to empower students to develop a passion for lifelong learning and nurture them by engaging their intellect, emotions and natural curiosity. We seek to instill not only the objectives and skills specified by Common Core Standards but develop student competence and motivation that will enrich each life. Our daily work together includes creating a safe and supportive environment in which all learners can pursue academic and social learning experiences and fulfill their unique potentials.

You are a huge part of the Mesa Vista Consolidated Schools success. Parent involvement increases student achievement and enriches the school community. Please feel free to regularly volunteer inside/outside our classrooms. By doing so, you are providing valued attention to students, teachers, and the school community. As we build upon existing relationships and forge new ones, let us collaboratively support the social, emotional and academic well-being of each child. Through this teaming effort, we will make tremendous progress for all.
